Q: After installing Brain Games Solitaire and attempting to start game I get this message:
"The D3D8.DLL is linked to missing export DDRAW.DLL:Unlock CB.” The game does not launch.
A: This error is usually caused by a Windows component that is either corrupt or too old to be
compatible. In most cases it is caused by a corrupted DirectX installation.
Update your DirectX, by going to Microsoft's website and downloading the latest version.
Microsoft Directx Downloads
Please install this update, reboot your PC, the program should work without problems.
Q: I don’t know how to play some of the Solitaire games. Are there detailed instructions and rules
available?
A: Each version of Solitaire has its own rules, which you can find in the Help file located on the support
page of our site or within the game itself under the GAME options / HOW TO PLAY area.
You can also turn on the Tutorial Mode in the program when learning a new game by going to the TOOLS
are in the lower right area of the play screen and selecting “GAMEPLAY” and checking the box for Tutorial
Mode.
Q: I don’t understand how to play Amazons solitaire. There seems to be more cards then there should be.
A: To play Amazons, there are two decks of cards used which is why you are seeing more cards than
standard Solitaire. The kings, deuces, 3's, 4's, 5's, and 6's are removed from the pack. The remaining
cards rank normally from queen high down to 7, with aces below 7's.
Q: Is there a way to turn off the music in the program other than turning off my speakers?
A: Absolutely. You can change the sound effects and music of the game OR even turn them off completely
but going to the TOOLS area in the lower right area of the play screen and selecting SOUND AND MUSIC.
Q: I have installed Solitaire but it’s difficult to see the cards on the screen.
A: One of the great features of this game is the larger cards option. You can set an option to have 'larger'
cards play by going to OPTIONS / GRAPHICS section and checking the box for it.
Also you may want to change card faces as some are just naturally designed with bigger and bolder
artwork, this can be done in this same OPTIONS/GRAPHICS area.
Q: How do I quit when I want to stop playing a Solitaire game.
A: You must exit the game you are playing first, then exit the program from the main menu.
